Out and About Around the Sid Valley with Alison Hernandez Police and Crime Commissioner

cllrshughes

Spent this afternoon with Alison Hernandez Devon and Cornwall's Police and Crime Commissioner looking at various areas of road safety concern for local residents in Fortescue, Sidmouth Town Centre, Temple Street and Bulverton Road...... Pavement Parking in the town and Speeding being the main two issues raised.

We discussed Community Speed Watch, Vehicle Activated Signs along with enhanced road markings as a way of driving speeds down,

Pavement Parking is a problem especially for the visually impaired and those with mobility difficulties, parents with young children in prams and pushchairs are also affected.

The Transport Select Committee will be making representations to government soon and Devon being one of the main contributors with evidence looks forward to taking action once the powers are agreed.
