Just so everyone is aware of the drainage improvement work that’s taking place during the next few weeks by the County Council….Here is what’s programmed:-
Work will commence this Monday 11th November, with the contractor upsizing the gully gratings at Knowle Drive under temporary traffic signals then moving on to install the additional drainage channel at the Powys House entrance.
The following week, w/c 18th November, Station Road will be closed for a short distance north from the All Saints Road roundabout to allow the contractor to install the additional high capacity gullies with new pipework on the north side of the roundabout.
w/c 25th November, new high capacity gullies will be installed at the Coburg Road junction under temporary traffic signals. Seafield Road will be closed at the junction with Station Road while these works take place, to simplify traffic movements through the signals.
w/c 02nd December, the contractor will upsize the gully gratings between All Saints Road and Coburg Road, again under temporary traffic signals. Additional roadspace has been booked for this extra week, although the impact should be minor.
Please note:-
These dates aren’t set in stone, as the contractor has flexibility to adjust the programme to suit conditions, but this is the current plan. The closure north from the roundabout is fixed due to roadspace booking.
