Be Prepared by Expecting the Unexpected

Some flood resilience tips ahead of Storm Ciaran….Be prepared and expect the unexpected by:-

  • Deploying any flood resilience you may have such as flood gates and barriers and air brick covers.

  • Place sandbags across vulnerable doors or use plastic sheets and tied bags of earth if you don’t have any specific flood defences.

  • Move valuables and any furniture up off the floor and if possible to upstairs.

  • Check on vulnerable neighbours.

  • Listen to weather forecasts and warnings.

  • Initiate any local Emergency Plan

  • Place towels on the inside of doors

  • Keep pets indoors
